Andrew Kramer Head Coach

Coach Andrew Kramer joined the Raider staff in 2020 and is an ASCA Level 4 certified coach. He has served as interim coach twice during his time with the Raiders, prior to which he was the lead coach for the Senior 2 group, helping multiple swimmers earn Sectional cuts as freshmen. Andrew has led the Men's Team to two 2nd place finishes at Futures in 2022 and 2023. Andrew also served as the Head Coach of the Woodhaven Summer Swim Club, helping them win a league championship and inspiring many swimmers to join club swimming!

Before joining the Raiders, Andrew was the Head Coach of the Miami Valley School in Dayton, and an assistant coach at the Columbus School for Girls. He completed an intership with Ritter Sports Performance which exposed him to elite swimming and coaching techniques. Andrew has coached 12 Winter Jr. National Qualifers and 10 Ohio State HS Champions. 

Coach Andrew is driven to help swimmers meet and exceed their goals. His coaching philosophy is a mixture of physiology, technique, hard work, and fun competition, and he is guilty of owning nearly every swim coaching book available. Coach Andrew's inspiration comes from motivated athletes who want to get better, and his love for the sport.

Brent Peaden Head Age Group Coach

For more than 25 years, Coach Brent has been using a mixture of creativity, enthusiasm and innovative techniques to create one of the most comprehensive age group programs in the region.  Coach Brent has coached swimmers to hundreds of “Top 10” National Rankings, achieve various qualifying levels to include: Sectional/Junior Nationals, National Age Group Top 16 Swimmers, State Record Holders, Zone Qualifiers and Record Holders, and Numerous Ohio Junior Olympic State Champions, and one National Relay Record.  Known for his high energy and smile, the former Ohio Age Group Coach of the Year is also a Team Manager for the Ohio All-Star Zone Team.  Prior to the Raiders, Coach Brent was the Head Age Group Coach for the Wright-Patterson Flying Fish at Wright Patterson AFB. He was also the Head Coach for Fairborn (OH) High School, and led the Wayne Swim Club, a summer team in Huber Heights, to winning 2 Miami Valley Swim Association Titles.  Coach began his age group swimming in San Pedro, CA and competed in the European Forces Swim League (EFSL) while attending HS in Madrid, Spain.  Coach Brent constantly strives to put the fun in swimming.

Kevin Weldon Assistant Coach

Coach Kevin Weldon is one of the Dayton region’s most experienced competition swim professionals.  With 33 years leading the Dayton Raiders, Coach Kevin has developed: 30 Olympic Trials qualifiers (2 Top 8 Finalists), 4 National Age Group record holders, 2 Senior National Champions, 40 State High School Champions, 12 Ohio State High School record holders, 1000+ Swimmers who’ve competed in the Ohio High School State Meet.  The 2018 International Swim Coach Association Hall of Fame inductee has also helped his swimmers acquire more than 1-Million-Dollars in athletic scholarships over the course of his career.  Before coaching the Raiders, Coach Kevin was the head coach for the Sunkist Swim Team (1985-1989) and the KanKakee YMCA (1984-1985). He was also a University of Nebraska Men’s assistant coach (1981-1984).  Coach Kevin hopes to provide a safe and positive sports experience for all Raider athletes, and the opportunity for each swimmer to achieve their full potential. The Dayton Raiders are a 3 time USA Swimming Gold Medal Level Club of Excellence under his leadership.

Coach Kevin retired from his role as Head Coach in 2022, and enjoys mentoring the next wave of leadership for the club. Coach Kevin also works for ACC, a company that helps swimmers navigate the college recruiting landscape. 

Jaclyn Helt Lead Coach

Coach Jaclyn has been coaching since 2008, and brings her personal experience as an outstanding swimmer from both the local high school and University ranks to the Raiders pool deck. She was a standout student/athlete at Centerville High School and the University of Miami in Florida.

Jaclyn is currently a chemistry/biology teacher at Alter High School. She prides herself in her ability to utilize her teaching skills both in and out of the pool to best teach her athletes. Coach Jaclyn believes athletes should learn what it means to work hard, but have fun while doing so. Her groups target listening skills, team building, goal setting, and more.

Coach Jaclyn hopes to develop each of her swimmers into the best athlete and person they can become.

Maddison Measel Assistant Coach

Coach Maddie brings a positive, light-hearted coaching style to the Dayton Raiders Aquatic Center each day. The former Centerville High School swimming standout teaches her athletes the importance of hard work and dedication, and how to apply strong swimming fundamentals towards fast racing.  Coach Maddie was a member of the Wright State University Swim Team and also selected as a Coach for the Ohio All Star Zone Team. She is a student of the sport and holds many certifications including:  USA Swimming Coach, Lifeguard Training / CPR, AED and a Physical Best Specialist.  Coach Maddie coaches the individual swimmer to be his or her best. She knows with swimming, you get out of it what you put into it so she tries her best to make each practice a positive learning experience for the athlete.

Coach Maddie married fellow former swimmer and coach Owen Measel in 2023! 

Bethany Talley Lead Coach

Coach Bethany joined the Raider staff in the fall of 2019.  Coach Bethany served as the Head Coach of the Yellowsprings Sea Dogs from 2012 to 2023, helping grow one of the smallest summer clubs to a 100+ team and strong presence in the Miami Valley Swim Association (MVSA). She was also the former Head Coach for the Yellowsprings HS Swim & Dive Team.   Coach Bethany began her swimming career at the Dearborn County YMCA and later was a member of the MAKOS Swim Team in Oxford, OH.  Coach Bethany works as an Intervention Specialist at St. Brigid's. Coach Bethany and her husband have 4 children and two of them swim for the Raiders.

Coach Bethany enjoys instilling fundamentals like uw kicking and fast kicking for swimmers, and has served as the lead coach of our 9-10 year olds for the last 4 years. 

Holly Hulett Lead Coach

Coach Holly joined the Raider staff in the fall of 2021 after a decorated swimming career. Holly was a Winter Jr. National Qualifier in the 200 backstroke, and swam at both West Point and Wright State University. She got her start coaching summer league in Kettering during college summers. 

Holly has served as a lead coach for Red Jr. swimmers and is the current lead coach of our Senior 2 group. Coach Holly is excellent at helping swimmers smile during practice, even ones that are very challenging! Coach Holly is always learning and is passionate about building the Raiders program up!

 

Ken Hunter Fitness Director / Conditioning Coach

Coach Ken Hunter is the Director of Fitness and Dryland for the Dayton Raiders. 

Coach Ken brings over 15+ years of experience in the health and fitness industry. His professional experience originates from Personal Training, Martial Arts, Yoga, Pilates, and Joint Pain Reduction. He has trained collegiate, elite, and junior elite athletes and effectively helped many clients reach weight loss goals and get in shape.

Ken has a genuine passion and dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles, encouraging fitness for the whole family, and activating today’s youth. Ken has thoughtfully developed effective fitness programs that teach, motivate, and promote hard work while ensuring that the time is enjoyable for all. Ken’s programs encompass the true meaning of fitness.

As the Director of Fitness for the Dayton Raiders Swim Club, Ken ensures the fitness environment at DRAC to be one of learning, safety, growth, and personal development. Swimmers enjoy the challenges and creativity his dryland workouts bring. The work coach Ken does helps keep swimmers healthy and gettering stronger throughout their time as swimmers, while also staying balanced. 

Richard Kipp Lead Coach

Coach Dutch started coaching with the Raiders in January 2023.  He is a life-long swimmer and a recently retired Aerospace Executive.  Dutch is also a United States Masters Swimming (USMS) and an American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) certified coach. Prior to joining the Raiders, Dutch was a lead group coach at the Coffman YMCA. During that time Dutch was an active member of the National YMCA Competetive Swimming and Diving Advisory Committee.

After college, Dutch spent several decades competing as a triathlete, primarily in the sprint and half Iron Man distances.  Notable races include Olympic Distance National Championships, La Jolla Rough Water Swim, and the Escape from Alcatraz.  As a Masters swimmer, Dutch has competed in several YMCA and USMS National Championships achieving numerous Top 10 finishes.

Dutch and his family reside in Oakwood where both his children swam for the Raiders and competed at the State and National levels.  Dutch's daughter, Noelle, graduated from Cal Poly where she competed as a NCAA Division I varsity swimmer all four years.  Dutch's son, Dutch, graduated from Rose-Hulman as a NCAA Division III varsity swimmer all four years.  Dutch broke three school records and was a First Team All-American his senior year.

Sean Dwyer Assistant Coach

During his 25 years coaching, Coach Sean has worked extensively with all age groups and has used his love for learning and double major in Human Biology and Sports Medicine to help propel his swimmers to success.

Coach Sean is certified in both the United States and Canada in coaching. Prior to the Raiders, Coach Sean was an assistant coach and then Head Coach for the Wright State University Swim Team.

Under his leadership swimmers have achieved:

* National Invitational Championship men’s swimmer of the year

* Horizon League swimmer of the year

* 4 swimmers with NCAA B standards

* 4 out of 5 swimmers making finals at US Winter Nationals

Coach Sean is a firm believer in quality strength and conditioning. He helped Wright State create the High Performance Swimming Developmental model which guided all aspects of their training program.

Coach Sean is also a former Head Coach for the Trent University Swim Team and Trent Swim Club in Canada. Coach Sean loves that swimming can create life-long friendships, and he hopes each of his swimmers gain a passion and appreciation for the sport.

Jennifer Sparks Assistant Coach

Coach Jen Sparks has had two different stints coach for the Raiders, one that began in 2005, and another that began in 2023  She began swimming at the age of 9 at the Beavercreek YMCA and joined the Dayton Raiders when she was 12.  Throughout her high school swimming career at Beavercreek High School, she was a 4-year varsity letterman, 4-year district qualifier and a 3-year state qualifier..  Jenny continued her swimming career at the College of Wooster for 4 years, where she specialized in backstroke and distance freestyle events.  While in college, Jenny had the opportunity to help host two NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Jenny coached for three years at Woodhaven Swim Club in Beavercreek, Ohio, leading them to 3 consecutive league championships.  In 2004, Jenny graduated from The College of Wooster with a degree in Communication Studies and is employed at The Ohio Periodontal and Dental Implant Center.  Jenny and her husband, Doug, welcomed their first child, Aiden, in February 2010, and their daughter Hailey a few years later.  Coach Jen works with the Bronze group, and is especially good at helping young swimmers keep things in perspective. 

Gabriel Bartolomei Assistant Coach

Coach Gabe joined the Dayton Raiders staff in the fall of 2023. Gabe grew up as a swimmer in Georgia and was a Winter Jr. qualifier as a swimmer. Gabe swam 4 years for the Air Force Falcons, serving as captain his senior year, and is a graduate of the Academy. Coach Gabe enjoys helping swimmers improve their technique and training. Coach Gabe currently takes classes at AFFIT. 

John Ravestein Lead Coach

Coach John joined the Raider staff in the fall of 2017.   Coach John has over 20 years of coaching experience at the age group, senior and college level. 

John is the director of swim academy/lesson program, and enjoys watching big dreams start with tiny bubbles. John's journey in swimming started here in Dayton as a swimmer at South YMCA - he went on to swim at Wilmington College. John coaches for a variety of clubs and colleges in North Carolina, including as head coach for a YMCA swim team, before returning to the Dayton area and taking over our swim academy. 

Coach John is the lead coach for our homeschool group. 

Outside of the pool, Coach John enjoys fitness and spending time with his wife and three sons. 

Nicole Kinzeler Assistant Coach

Nicole joined the Dayton Raider coaching staff in the fall of 2023. She was a Dayton Raiders herself, swimming under coaches Brent Peaden and Kevin Weldon. Nicole is a professor at Wright State University, and enjoys building relationships with swimmers and helping them improve. She is passionate about fitness and health and hopes to inspire lifelong swimmers!

Jeffrey Labianco Assistant Coach

Coach Jeff Labianco started as a swimmer at local Dayton HS Chaminade Julienne before going on to swim at Mount Union College in Alliance, OH. He developed a passion for sprinting and butterfly there and is always looking for ways to go faster. Jeff continues to swim and learn about the sport, passing on his knowledge to Raider swimmers. 

Coach Jeff joined the staff in the summer of 2023 and works mainly with our SR2 and SR1 groups. He previously spent time coaching DCC summer league and teammates on the side during his college years.

Kara Dennis Assistant Coach

Coach Kara joined the Raider staff in the fall of 2024. She grew up in Cleveland, OH and swam at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH in college. She has been coaching age group swimmers since 2008, including for the Lake Erie Silver Dolphins and the Blazing Barracudas. She also served as the Head Site Coach for the Cleveland Swim Institure, managing all aspects of the program. 

Coach Kara loves to go in-depth in teaching technique, and has spent a lot of time studying the finer points of each stroke. She enjoys passing this knowledge on to swimmers to help them go faster!

Coach Kara works with our white, blue, and bronze groups. 

Camden Richter Assistant Coach

Coach Camden joined the Raider's staff in the fall of 2024. Coach Camden grew up swimming in the Troy area, and became an assistant coach for Legacy Christian. From there, Coach Camden has expressed an interest in learning about all facets of the sport. 

Camden currently is a student at Cedarville University, and works with our Red Junior and Red Senior groups. 

Isabella Collizzi Assistant Coach

Coach Bella joined the Raiders' staff in fall of 2024. Bella moved to Dayton as part of her first assignment as part of the Air Force. She graduated from the academy after swimming and serving as a student manager there. Coach Bella was a breastroker and enjoys passing along the technical points she learned in her swimming career. 

 

Taylor Ruef Lead Coach

Coach Taylor joined the Raider staff in the fall of 2023.   Coach Taylor is a former Raider from Beavercreek OH and was a former Junior Olympian and standout varsity swimmer on the Beavercreek HS Team.   Coach Taylor also coached the 12 & unders at Greene Valley Gators Summer Club.  Coach Taylor assists with the age groups.  Coach Taylor and her family have two children, one swims on the Raiders. 

Kathryn Chambers Lead Coach

Coach Kathryn joined the Raider staff in 2020.   Coach Kathryn brings a high level of energy and enthusiasm to practice.  Coach Kathryn has experience coaching with the Cardinall Hill (Beavercreek OH) summer swim team.  She also has several years of instructor experience teaching children of all ages how to swim.  Coach Kathryn coaches with the Raider Prep, White, and Red Junior groups, and has led our Raider Prep group for the last two years. 

Coach Kathryn is always quick to smile and makes swimming fun for young swimmers. We're glad she's part of our team!
