FAQ's

When does the season start?
Practices are set to begin the week of September 2, 2025. Senior groups may have optional workouts starting before that.

How many spots are available this season?
Most of our age groups have room, but if there is a high number of tryouts and registrations there is a small chance a new swimmer may be waitlisted.

If we are waitlisted, when will we know if we have a spot?
Dayton Raiders staff will contact waitlist enrollments through September 2nd.

What does the competition year look like?
The 25-26 season will run September 2025 through March 2026. The short course season is from September 2025 to March 2026. There will be a 2-week break in between the spring and the long course season (compete in 50m pool) is from April 2026-July 2026. Qualified Raider swimmers may extend into August 2025.

Where are swim meets?
The location of the swim meet depends on what group your swimmer is in. Many swim meets are local, including a few that are hosted by the Dayton Raider Swim Club. Swimmers 12 and under may travel to Cincinnati or Columbus for swim meets as well. Swimmers 13 and older may travel to  Indianapolis and other midwest cities for swim meets, with opportunities to travel to Greensboro, North Carolina if your swimmer qualifies for higher level meets in USA Swimming.

What is the practice schedule?
The practice schedule will be posted as soon as possible. You can find last year’s schedule under the tab “practice schedule, fall/winter.”

Does the team require families to complete service hours?
Yes. Each family is required to complete service hours over the course of the year, depending on the swimmer's training group. Service hours can be completed by volunteering at meets, in the form of donations for meets or practice/group activities, as an USA official working the meets (training required). Some groups service hours commitments are less - you can learn more under the service hours tab on the website.

How is the Dayton Raiders Team Unify website used?
The team unify website you are currently on is our team website used primarily for communication, meet entries, and meet fees. Registration is done on this website, and you will be invited to make an account after you register your swimmer.

What are the registration dates?
Registration for returning members will be activated in early August . Registration for new Raiders will be activated Monday, August 10th.
